Harbinger
of tragedy, a strange wind blows through the town of Fairview and into
the lives of a group of college kids. It begins when Clair tells Mic
and his buddies, John and Billy, that another in their circle, Bob,
has mailed her an obscene card. Mic, in a rage borne out of lust for
Clair, murders Bob.
Filled with remorse, Mic ponders turning himself in to the authorities,
even though he knows it will implicate his friends. While the wind escalates,
John, Billy and Clair join forces to stop Mic. As events and behavior
devolve to their most primal, it becomes a race against time and a battle
of morality versus savagery.
A horrific and thrilling morality tale, THE WIND delights in asking
questions, not answering the mystery at its core. As disturbing as it
is thought provoking, the movie is ultimately a study of a group of
anytown-America college kids whose tragic degeneration into a savage
horde is remarkably plausible.
